Dr Sarah Kate Merry is a Research Assistant in the Disruptive Media Learning Lab, where she focuses on evaluating the success of the projects which the Lab supports. As well as the Arts Gymnasium, she supports internal projects on micro-credentialing and employability (Open Badges), student-led digital literacy training (CU Digital Leaders), and personal website provision for staff and students (Coventry Domains). She also works on two large-scale EU-funded projects which aim to improve access to higher education for people with disabilities in Latin America (MUSE) and to increase the use of open educational resources and practices in the South Mediterranean region (OpenMed).

Sarah’s background is in information science, with a focus on the impact of the Internet and mobile technologies on society: her research interests include friendship creation and maintenance online, non-participation in online communities, and social capital.
